Update on 2nd Aug

Global Consumer Confidence remains below the level of last year, with a slight of improvement in latest month.

US, India and UK delivered the most interesting changes. US experience the highest decline in 6 months. On the contrary, India had its highest growth since Jan’25. Confidence decline in UK has been continuous for 14 months already, the highest since the first year of Covid’19.

Pay special attention to the US results as elections are just 100 days away and confidence levels indicate a growing discontent. India will be an interesting place to watch to evaluate the impact of Iran crisis through shortage of oil, gas and fertilizer. UK’s Labour party would expect an improvement of confidence with new PM; trends should be checked closely in coming months.
